Why I Share Yoga

A friend insisted I watch this video earlier today and as I wiped tears from my eyes, it reminded me of the power of yoga. And the power of yoga not just to lose weight or help someone walk again, but the power of yoga to rebuild and heal what is deepest in us. The man in this video shows us glimpses into his life and practice, and while we witness his physical body heal, what we are also bearing witness to is the capacity of the human spirit to continue to reach towards possibility. One of the reasons that yoga is such a great method of self-realization is because we are able to leverage this capacity for growth and practice it in manageable and tangible steps everyday. So something as boundless and infinite as spiritual transformation can become accessible and possible in a very real way just by putting your hands to work on your mat everyday.

This is why I share the practice of yoga; because I know this kind of transformation is not only possible, I have witnessed it happen in all kinds of ways within myself and my students. I am beyond grateful to have the opportunity to practice and share my experience with others through teaching. Share this video, and thank you, Arthur, for this reminder of what’s possible.
